Our Vision

It all started when…

My daughter Priscilla, at the age of 6, started to write stories and began to draw. Living in Kansas City, Kansas I started to search for a mentor in our community who worked with youth in the arts and could help guide Priscilla in her passions. After many shut doors and told “she is too young” “our community does not have funding for the arts, nor mentor programs within” and “sorry, maybe wait until she gets to college” I, as a mom, decided to take action as the answers I was given were not good enough. After desperately continuing my search I decided to create my own art mentor space for the youth. That is where the story of The Scribblers Co. creative writing, art and theater program for kids began. Turning to present day, I have since created a festival for young and experienced alike who have a passion for all genres of art to join in celebrating not only their own creativeness but also their fellow artists; The Latino Arts Festival. The festival includes visual artists, dancers, creative writers and music. The festival includes a massive custom car Show which brings out more then 80 local and non local lowriders, custom cars, car clubs, solo riders, master builders, painters and custom car enthusiasts. In 2018, The Latino Arts Festival initiated its 1st Latino Arts Festival Scholarship for a student interested in pursuing the arts as a career.

We are here for our youth, our experienced and our under served community whom is passionate in the arts.
