LGBTQ Anthology Workshop

  • Latino Arts Foundation 1132 Oak Street Kansas City, MO 64106 United States (map)

This working group meets to share and workshop pieces for the upcoming LGBTQ anthology from the Latino Writers Collective.

The anthology aims to present a 360° view of life of LGBTQ Latina/o/x people in the Kansas City metro area. Those stories include voices of our families, co-workers, friends, and other Latina/o/x allies.

You're invited to share your voice as we gather stories, essays, poems, and artwork for this anthology which is set to publish in Fall 2020.

All pieces submitted for consideration into the anthology must be workshopped by the working group not only to ensure quality but to share and build writing/editing skills among all the participants.

WRITING PROMPT HOMEWORK: Write about a time when you felt alone and someone gave you a hand or was there for you. Please bring this with you. You don't have to read it or share it unless you want to. This is an exercise in recalling memory, emotion, and senses.
